Blank canvas

In the midst of a confused place, I have been tempted to make lists. If I take this path, these things will happen. If I take that one, these things will happen.

When I’m in this space, I forget a few details. Things like I really can’t know what is going to happen, just what I think is most likely. And I often have the choice to not make a choice. Even though I don’t always see it.

creative every day

I can forget about what happens when I just let things unfold. To wait and see.

Sometimes the best choice is not to make a choice at all.

  3. Your post reminds me of the best advice I heard during the 3 months I was living in India: “When in doubt, do nothing.”

Inaction is not a solution to everything, of course, but sometimes you need time to review the doubts and think through the consequences before doing anything.

    • This do nothing thing runs counter to so much in our lives in the US. Hard to imagine how totally different the perspectives would be starting from a place of waiting for clarity before jumping to a conclusion.
