I’m working on a series of images for a new product line about Exploring My Work. For this one, I was thinking about those times when you are looking out over a horizon of possibilities. There are some hints of what might be ahead, but you can’t really discern those glimmers. Will they be opportunities? New exciting things in your life? Or are they monsters waiting to teach you more life lessons?

creative every dayAs I’ve been contemplating this idea, I’ve been thinking about how what I see gets affected by what I am bringing in the moment. Am I remembering all the times my risks brought disappointment or the times I found joy? Depends on context and how my day is going. I’m also noticing how much more physical the painful memories are for me. Joy is more subtle, warm, but not searing like some of the pain can be.

  1. Interesting. I’m using another image of yours (prow of a boat with sea) to get this idea of future possibilities across in a presentation I’m giving. And what occurred to me is that sometimes looking out of the boat (safety of where I am) it is less open sea (which, I agree, is overwhelming) but a kind of light misty fog with indeterminate shapes in it. It is unclear whether those shapes are welcoming places or pirate coves. And the only way to find out is to go look.

Thought I’d throw that out there in case it inspires 🙂

  3. You know, I am sitting right there at the, “looking out over a horizon of possibilities” spot you mentioned and seeing those hints and wondering where things will take me. The journey is exciting but frightening all at the same time isn’t it?

  5. Oh, and I forgot to mention that the eyes on these waves of unknowing remind me of the waves on Ponyo. Have you seen that movie? If not you’ll have to rent it so you know what I’m talking about because I can see your painting move and the sounds it would make are just like those waves.

    • I haven’t seen the movie, but will look it up. Yes the journey can hold so much!

  7. Your painting speaks perfect with what you say.

That is wonderful that you are exploring your life on paper and that it is bringing up questions and past experiences for you. Creativity is a great healer and I hope that you continue to attune to what is true to you, as it guides you along your journey and helps to connect with the reason you are here. A very happy Art every day month. Much love and light out to you, and all the new experiences that you enter. ~ Ana
