
The rectangle in the background of this piece is a gelatin monoprint. I wrote a post about how this is done a while back, Gelatin Printing. I scratched the tree over the print with a bamboo skewer, then drew into and around the printed area with colored pencil.

I like the dimensional effect of the bamboo scratches and the contrast between the softer surface of the mono print and the crisper marks of the pencil work. 🙂
