Creating your own museum
This is one piece of work by James Magee that is installed in a building on 2000 acres in West Texas. The artist hasn’t shown his work in 18 years, just kept creating it in a complex he calls The Hill. Interesting in itself since it is on a very flat rocky desert. The titles are poems. He loves the smell of steel. You can get a sense of him in this article and video. The publicity is coming around an upcoming museum show of his work. Fascinating to contemplate the motivation to keep creating, to keep focused, for all these years.

Art from Sticky Notes
I love sticky notes. I have them hanging all over my office in varying configurations at different times. Here is a post showing what happens when you take sticky notes to a whole new scale. I found this three dimensional one particularly interesting. Now I’m fighting the urge to go to Costco and buy the mega pack of sticky notes to play with.

Custom Pet Sculptures

Alice lives in Alabama and makes sculptural portraits of your dog out of felt. She really captures the unique personality. Almost makes me want to get a dog just to get one (don’t tell the cats.) You can see more of her work on her Making Stuff with Love Etsy shop.
